Spring repair and replacement
Torsion and extension springs, matched to the weight and travel of your door rather than to whatever was on the truck. A spring sized by guess is the reason a door comes back.

Springs, openers, cables, tracks and panels, repaired so the door works the same way in a year as it does the day we leave. Free estimate, seven days a week.
Why the work holds
A garage door fails in one place and gets blamed everywhere else. A drum that was never seated square chews through cables. A misread spring wind puts the whole weight on an opener that was never built to carry it. Swap the broken piece on its own and the door runs again for a while, then breaks somewhere new and it looks like bad luck. We measure the door before we touch it, match the parts to what it actually weighs and how far it actually travels, and set the balance so the opener is only steering the door instead of hauling it. That is the whole difference between a repair that lasts and one that returns. Most of what we end up replacing was never the original fault - it was the casualty of something upstream that nobody looked for. Finding the actual cause costs a few more minutes on the first visit and saves the second one entirely, which is the trade most people are really paying for. Anyone can order the part. The work is knowing which part was lying to you about what went wrong, and not leaving until the door proves it is fixed by holding still exactly where you let go of it.

Most people cannot name the broken part, and there is no reason they should. Describe what the door is doing and we will tell you what it usually means.
Usually a broken spring or a cable off its drum. Do not pull the release and heave on it by hand - an unbalanced door carries its full weight.
Worn rollers, a bent track, or a door sitting off-track on one side. Noise is the early warning; crooked is the part that bends metal.
Panel damage, or a door far enough gone that replacing it costs less than chasing it. We will tell you which one you are looking at.
What we do
Eight things we do, grouped by what sent you looking rather than by the type of door you own. Nobody calls because they need a torsion spring - they call because the door will not lift, or it sounds wrong, or something is bent. So that is how this list is arranged. Find the description that matches what your door is doing and the work underneath it is what usually fixes it. If none of them quite fit, call and describe it in your own words; we have almost certainly heard it before and it costs you nothing to ask.

Free estimate
Logic boards, gears, trolleys, remotes, keypads and safety sensors. We balance the door first, because an opener asked to lift a heavy door will fail again no matter which one you buy.
Free estimate
Frayed or jumped cables, flat-spotted rollers, and track that has been knocked out of plumb. These are cheap parts that ruin expensive ones when they are left alone.
Free estimate
Single sections swapped where the rest of the door is sound. We check that the replacement still matches once it is up, and that the door is balanced for the weight it is now carrying.
Free estimate
Doors that have come out of the track, or that close hard on one side. We straighten what can be straightened and say plainly when a bent part needs replacing instead.
Free estimate
Full replacement when the door is past repair, including the opening, the hardware and the balance. The install is where a door either gets a long life or a short one.
Free estimate
Roll-up and sectional doors for shops, bays and warehouses, where a door that will not open stops the work rather than just the errand.
Free estimate
Balance, fasteners, rollers, hinges, sensor alignment and lubrication. The visit exists so the parts that wear quietly get caught while they are still cheap to deal with.
Free estimateHow a visit goes
We look at the whole door, not just the part that gave out - springs, cables, drums, rollers, track, hinges, the opener and how the door sits in its opening. Then you get told what failed, what caused it, what has to be dealt with now and what can reasonably wait. If something can be left alone for a season we will say so rather than write it up. Writing up parts that did not need replacing is how a trade burns through a town this size, and we would rather keep the phone ringing next year. If the honest answer is that the door is past economical repair, you get that too, with what a replacement actually involves and no pressure attached to it. When the work is finished the door gets cycled under its own opener and balanced by hand in front of you, and you get shown what changed and what to keep an eye on.

A sample of the work, described by what was wrong, what actually caused it, and what it took to put right. No addresses, and no job counter.

A two-car door dropped onto its stops when the spring let go. The spring that was on it had been sized for a lighter door, which is why it wore out early rather than by bad luck. We weighed the door, fitted a matched pair, replaced the two cables that had been chewed by the drum, and reset the balance so the opener stopped carrying weight it was never rated for.

The door had been closing hard on the left for months and finally jumped the track. The vertical track was out of plumb where it met the flag bracket, so every cycle dragged the rollers into the flange. We straightened and re-shimmed the track, replaced the rollers that had gone flat, and re-hung the bracket square so it stops happening again.

The third opener in six years on the same door. The door itself was the problem: badly balanced, so every opener fitted to it had been lifting most of the weight and burning out its gears. We rebalanced the door first, then fitted the opener, which is the order the two jobs have to happen in for either of them to hold.

A reversed car took out the bottom section. The rest of the door was sound, so a full replacement would have been money spent for nothing. We fitted a new section, moved the hardware across, and re-checked the balance, because a door that has had a section changed is not carrying quite the same weight it was before.
Standards
Plenty of contractors put badges on a website without much behind them. We would rather list what we actually hold than fill the space with something you cannot check. What we will say is this: we work seven days a week, from seven in the morning to seven at night, on doors across Navarre and the surrounding Santa Rosa County area. Estimates are free and you get told the price before anyone starts. If a repair we made does not hold, calling us back is not an argument. A licence number is checkable in about a minute, and so is an insurance certificate, which is exactly why the ones printed on websites are worth so little when nobody prints the number beside them. Ours is below. Ask to see the paperwork itself when we come out and you will get it. What we will not do is put a shield on a page and hope you take it on trust, because that is the same habit that produces a repair you cannot inspect.
Who you are calling
Forge Garage Door Repair works on garage doors and nothing else. That is a deliberate limit. A door is a spring system with a motor attached, and the failures repeat in patterns you only learn by seeing them over and over on the same kinds of doors in the same kind of weather. Working one trade means the diagnosis is usually right the first time, the parts are already on the truck, and nobody is learning on your door. You will talk to the person doing the work, not a dispatcher reading from a script, and the person who answers is the person who shows up. That also means there is nobody to hide behind if a repair does not hold, which concentrates the mind rather nicely on getting it right the first time.
