What this policy covers

This policy describes what happens to information you give us through this website. It covers this website only. It does not cover a phone call you make to us, a conversation with a technician at your home, or any paperwork we hand you in person.

We have tried to describe what the site actually does rather than what a website of this kind usually does. If something below reads as unusually short, that is because the site collects unusually little.

What we collect

The only place this site collects anything is the callback form on the contact page. That form has five fields: your name, your phone number, the kind of work you need, when you would prefer to be called, and a message describing the problem.

There is no email field on this site, on any page, in any form. We do not ask for an email address and there is nowhere on the site to give us one.

We do not ask for a street address, a date of birth, a payment card, or anything else that would identify you beyond a name and a phone number.

• Name - so we know who we are calling.
• Phone number - so we can call you back. This is the only way we reply.
• Service needed - so the right parts are on the truck.
• Preferred callback window - so we call at a time that suits you.
• Message - anything you want to tell us before we ring.

How we use it

We use what you send to call you back about the work you described, and for nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list, because we do not run one. We do not sell, rent, trade or share your details with anyone for marketing, and we do not buy contact details from anyone either.

We may need to share your name, phone number and the description of the problem with a technician who is coming out to you. That is the only sharing that happens, and it exists so the person arriving at your door already knows what the job is.

Analytics, cookies and tracking

This site runs no analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no conversion tracker, no session recorder, no heat-mapping tool and no chat widget. Nothing on these pages reports your visit to a third party.

Because none of that is here, there is no cookie banner, and there is nothing for one to ask you about. The site sets no cookies of its own. The web framework that serves these pages may set a cookie needed to deliver the page itself; it carries no identifier we can tie to you and it is not used to track anything.

The map on the contact and home pages is an embedded map frame supplied by Google. Loading it means your browser contacts Google, and Google can see that request in the same way it would if you had opened a map in another tab. We pass it a pair of coordinates and nothing about you. The frame is loaded lazily, so on most visits it is never requested at all.

How long we keep it

TODO(fact): retention period for callback requests, to be set before this policy is published. Until that is decided this section states no period, because stating one we do not follow would be worse than stating none.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call the number below and say so. Because the only thing we hold is a name, a phone number and a note about a garage door, this is usually a short conversation.

You are never required to use the form. Calling us achieves exactly the same thing and leaves nothing on this website at all.

This policy makes no claim of compliance with the GDPR, the CCPA, or any other specific privacy regime. No such assessment has been carried out. It describes what we do, which is a different and smaller claim.

Children's information

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us a callback request, call us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If what the site does changes, this page changes with it. If we ever add analytics, a cookie, or any form of tracking, this page will say so before it happens rather than afterwards.
